Jewish elementary school targeted by anti-Semitic graffiti receives federal grant to improve on-site security

An elementary school attached to a North York synagogue that was the target of anti-Semitic graffiti in 2011 will receive a federal grant to improve its on-site security. The incident in 2011 involved a red swastika on a black backdrop that was emblazoned on the school’s wall with the words “Islam will rule” scrawled beneath in black spray paint.

The funding totals almost $33,000 and is awarded through the Communities at Risk: Security Infrastructure Program (SIP) and was announced by Willowdale MP Chungsen Leung.
